The room itself was awful: it smelled strongly of smoke, the bedspread had cigarette holes, the carpet was stained, and the faucet leaked onto the counter when turned on. The fitted sheet kept sliding off, exposing red blood stains on the mattress cover. What happened with our service dog was worse. We were traveling with two dogs, one of them my Army Veteran husband’s trained service dog. The manager insisted we pay pet fees for both, even after we explained that a service dog can’t legally be charged a fee. He said, “well here we do!” He also snidely suggested service dogs are usually for blind people, implying my husband shouldn’t have one because he can see. We explained that service dogs assist people with many disabilities, including detecting seizures and helping someone stay grounded and safe during PTSD episodes. He argued that he knew the law, then said most service dogs he’d seen didn’t need a leash, implying ours wasn’t real because she wore a harness and leash. We explained that the ADA requires a service dog to be leashed, harnessed, or otherwise physically controlled unless its tasks make that impossible. He argued again. I was so angry I was yelling at him in the parking lot, so my husband sent me upstairs. He finally paid the fees so we could go to bed after traveling all day. We’ll be filing a complaint with the ADA. If the manager had let us show him the law on ADA.gov, he could have learned and we wouldn’t have been upset. I’ve never been treated so horribly by a business, and I’ll push this as far as I can.

The woman who checked me in was very nice, and the first time my husband and I stayed there, we had no issues. We came back with the kids because they wanted to use the pool, and one staff member had a really bad attitude about it. The sign said each room got two hours of pool time, but didn’t say that meant two hours total for the whole day. We’d swum for a while, left for lunch, then wanted to go back when nobody else was in the pool. I don’t see why that should be a problem. The rules should spell out the limit so people can decide whether to book. If I’m paying for a room with a pool, I expect to use it more than once, especially since that was the main reason I chose it. We paid $352 for two rooms for two nights, and I’m taking my money elsewhere. I won’t pay that just to swim once in summer. A slim lady suddenly appeared, shouting at people about the pool. She needs better training and social skills if she doesn’t want that attitude to hurt the business. I tried to overlook the bad reviews and give the place a chance, but it seems the complaints about being made to leave the pool were true.

We were visiting family from out of town this past week. The front desk woman greeted us rudely, but we were tired and stayed anyway. My aunt’s room had no AC and a clogged toilet. When we reported it, we were told to reset the AC ourselves. After three tries, I flagged down a female employee in the parking lot, who was kind and came to fix it. We’d paid extra for the kids to use the pool. The posted rules said each room’s guests got two hours a day, and we’d only swum for an hour before going to lunch. When we returned, a man without a name tag, who said his name was Mike when we asked, poured out my son’s drink in front of him and threw it away, saying, “no trash in the pool area!” Then he came back yelling that we’d used our time and had only 30 minutes left, even though we had two rooms and had used just one hour out of four. The pool was empty except for our kids. I tried to explain, but he just shouted “2 hours!” over me. I don’t know if my family was treated that way because we’re Hispanic or because they’re content being a 2 star hotel. Either way, I’ll never stay again and will tell everyone I know to avoid it. Do better.

The staff were incredibly disrespectful and refused to serve us right away, without giving any reason. They even threatened to call the law and offered no explanation. It was confusing from start to finish. 0/10.

We chose the family suite for a ball trip, but it wasn’t clean when we arrived. After the kids swam, the “manager” came to the pool asking for room numbers and said there was a two-hour limit. I’ve never heard of a hotel putting a time limit on swimming. My kids had been there less than ten minutes when she returned, pointed them and a few others out, and said they had to leave for jumping. They weren’t diving or running, just jumping. I told my kids not to jump, but said I wouldn’t take them out of the pool since we’d paid to stay there and pool use was included in our time. She was watching kids swim on camera and using an intercom to talk to them. Who does that? It felt creepy. She also scolded kids for playing with a ball. We asked for extra towels and washcloths so the kids could bathe after using some at the pool, but were refused and told they only give out a set number each day. They don’t provide extra towels for the pool. Staff blamed the rules on insurance, even though a sign at the pool said swim at your own risk. They’ve lost any future business from us. The room wasn’t clean, and the people were rude. Complete trash of a place.
