Topaz Inn & Suites

I’m very satisfied with this place. It’s cleaner and quieter than its appearance might suggest, and there aren’t drug users hanging around all day and night. Staff have zero tolerance for riffraff, and they profile people as they arrive, sometimes refusing service before the person can even ask. I’d give it five stars if the rooms cost a bit less and the Wi-Fi didn’t cut out inside them.

The property is really clean, and the rooms are cozy. They’ve done some remodeling, and they rent by the night, week, or month. You can get a room with a little suite or rent one of the mobile homes. The people are very friendly, too. A very clean place.

I got checked in and settled, then found that the chain lock was stuck when I tried to leave for dinner. The area felt bad enough that I’d used the chain in the first place. I called the front desk, and the woman sounded exasperated as she said someone would come help. The person on the ground showed up with tools, but in the end I had to take the chain lock apart myself to get out. Then the woman at the desk refunded my money and kicked me out. The whole thing was bizarre and ridiculous. The place is in poor shape, and management is nuts. Stay somewhere else.

Every visit I’ve made here has been a good experience, and I highly recommend this economical, family-run business. The inn and rooms are very clean, and it’s centrally located in Apache Junction with easy directions and access. The accommodations are quaint without feeling seedy. The owners were on site, attentive, and helpful, and there were plenty of soaps, towels, and shampoos. On one visit I dropped a very sentimental piece of jewelry in the room and thought it was gone for good. The owners returned it, and I’m forever grateful. They’re an honest, hardworking family.
