The room itself was decent and cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. But the king bed felt worn out and was extremely uncomfortable, and the small, dated bathroom had a dirty shower. The walls were thin, too. Our neighbor got back around bar time and was noisy, though kind of funny. We could hear every word after their three-minute sexual encounter turned into a fight.
I saw plenty of positive reviews saying the negative ones were crazy, and after staying here, I agree with them. For $72 with tax, this is hard to beat. The room was spotless and smelled fresh, with quiet AC, a nice desk chair, comfy beds, crisp white linens, and a spotless bathroom. The common areas were vacuumed and well kept, and the pool looked great, with 8-10 people enjoying it. I wish I could post photos of my room.
The room was a horrible experience. Highway 41-facing rooms are a bad idea, since trucks will keep you up all night. The walls are paper thin, and the AC kicks on with a noise that scares you. Outside the rooms, the lights were full of spiders, and it looked like the cleaning staff hadn't even swept them.
Service was fine, but the hotel is showing its age. Most cable channels didn't work on the new HDTV. I paid $200 a night during AirVenture, which I knew was about four times the usual price, but next year I'll try to book a newer hotel well ahead of time.
The TV signal was awful, like someone needed to adjust the satellite dish. The tub floor also needed a good scrub and tile cleaner. Breakfast was all carbs. Ever heard of protein?
