With 800 miles still ahead of me, I was glad to get a night’s sleep after finding room 112 without any trouble. The room looked just right, everything in place, and the hot tub looked so inviting. But its water came out too slowly to fill it, so I tried the shower instead. That was no treat either: the walls were so close I kept hitting my elbows, and the showerhead was so high I could barely get wet. Still, I got dressed for bed, watched TV, and slept like a baby, thank goodness. It was the Friday before Christmas, traffic was bumper to bumper along the highway, and spotting the brightly lit Days inn sign felt like a now-or-never moment. The desk lady was sweet and helpful, gave me a smile and my key, then tried to explain how to find the room. Her directions were a blur to me, somewhere between this end and that. Hohoho.

The bathroom and plumbing could use some work, and breakfast wasn’t much. McD across the street opens at 05:00, though. The room seemed clean, I didn’t notice any bugs, and the bed was comfortable.

The manager came up to my room and got the TV set to what I wanted to watch. Great service. The rooms are adequate, and the location works fine for travelers.

The room was clean and well kept, and getting off the interstate was quick and easy. Jai gave me warm, outstanding service, checked me in, and walked me to my room. Sonic is within walking distance, with a McDonalds across the street for food. Breakfast was a letdown: danishes and honey buns, no coffee, and hardly anything ready. There weren’t any tables, just a cramped V corner where only one person could move around, and service ended at 9 am. The walk-in tile shower also worried me. Its curtain didn’t keep the water in, so the bathroom floor got wet and felt like an accident waiting to happen.
