Pleasant Valley Resort

We loved catching sunsets at Arcadia Beach and exploring Manistee and Frankfort. The nature hikes, beaches, and marsh walk were all great, too. Ketch 22 and MT plate had good food and service, and Elberta Pizza Co. was worth the drive. The three-bedroom house was spacious and nicely decorated, with a private hot tub that felt amazing after a long hike. It was reasonably priced for what you get. My only suggestion is a bigger sign, or clearer directions that there’s no on-site office.

It was hard to spot the place in the dark, so a lit sign would help. Inside, though, the room was cozy, comfortable, pet friendly, and much nicer than we expected. The little extras, like an in-room game, real coffee cups, and wine glasses, made it feel special, and it had none of that motel or hotel feel. It felt like a million-dollar stay at an affordable price. We’d definitely come back.

The recent room updates made everything feel clean and homey, and seeing the hot tub, cold tub, and sauna made it clear we’d found a resort. The M T Plate Diner is just steps away on M22. We were in town for golf and a quick getaway, and this gem was recommended by our friends who live in Arcadia. Booking was easy, and changing our dates when plans shifted was just as simple. It was also within walking distance of our friends’ home. Thanks, Pleasant Valley, we’ll be back.

The rooms are bright, cheerful, and tastefully decorated, and they feel more like someone’s home than a rental. Everything was immaculately clean, the mattresses were great, and the small details clearly weren’t overlooked. One of the best places I’ve stayed in years. Five stars don’t feel like enough. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it.
