Quality Inn High Point - Archdale

The staff were friendly, and at first the hotel seemed like what I expected. But within a couple of days of leaving, my partner and I both had itchy bites on our arms, hands, and legs. I believe we got bed bugs there, and I’m waiting to hear back about a refund. It’s a really uncomfortable feeling, and I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to share this. I’d pay a little more to stay somewhere I could feel comfortable. I understand bites can show up anywhere from a few hours to 14 days after exposure. I noticed mine within two days, and my partner noticed theirs within one.

My parents say they’ll never travel somewhere that requires a hotel again after this. They checked into their room, then a staff member knocked and demanded to see their IDs. When my dad asked her to show her own ID, she threatened to call the police and remove them from the room they had paid for. She insisted they weren’t supposed to be there, then went to the front desk and found out they were checked into that room after all. The hotel didn’t even offer to comp the room after this mess. What a crappy place. Don’t stay here, move on.

I liked the wooden stairs, and the room was really clean. It seemed like an older hotel, but it was quiet, the desk clerk was nice, and there were food options nearby in a great area.

The breakfast was nice, better than at other places, and I was very happy with my stay. The staff were great, the location was convenient and well lit, and I plan to stay again. I had no trouble with other guests. I took off a star because the hotel looks outdated. It seemed like other guests had broken things and left messes, which affected how the property looked.
