Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Arlington

The staff were great and accommodating, and the location made it easy to walk to nearby restaurants. My stay was okay, about a 7/10. The cleaning could've been better: there was hair in the shower and on the duvet, plus an old stain under the bed. The pillows felt like mush and need replacing. Rates were inflated for the game, which I expected, but breakfast could at least have been included. The TV signal kept cutting in and out, which was really frustrating.

Stuart, the night shift supervisor, is a phenom. He was professional and efficient. The hotel is clean and the staff are wonderful. If more of the service industry were like him, the world would be a better place. #amazing

I called weeks ahead to switch from a queen to two double beds and was told they'd note it and accommodate me on arrival. I'd prepaid, so my balance was zero. But the double beds weren't given at first, and it took the manager a while to fix things. I didn't like being held up at the counter as if I hadn't prepared or tried to avoid the delay. The manager did get it corrected. I was then surprised by a parking pass fee, since Hilton's booking site offered free parking. The manager gave me a courtesy pass for the check-in problem, but there's plenty of parking and no courtesy officer protecting the cars, so I still don't understand the fee. The manager was nice and helpful throughout the stay. Leaving was a different story. I messaged through the app at 2 am and 5 am to ask for a later check-out and got no reply. When I called at 10 am, the morning staff member was rude as soon as I asked. She said no and indicated she'd already handed out extensions, even though I'd asked hours earlier. Around 10:30, I took luggage to the car and moved it to the side door so I could bring the rest down more easily. The front staff turned off my key card, so I had to walk all the way back to get it reactivated. She was sitting at the counter on her phone, and I believe she deliberately turned it off. After I loaded the rest of my things and left, I saw a Hilton chat message saying a 30-minute extension could be approved, which was all I'd needed. Maybe the staff member heard my voice and said no automatically, but either way, I felt discriminated against and disrespected.

Nice, new place and a good choice if you're in the area for a game or business. There's decent dining nearby that you can walk to.
