Hilton Garden Inn Reagan National Airport

I was visiting the National Mall, and the hotel's location was very convenient. The shuttle to and from DCA was quick, and the National Mall was close enough that I could Uber or Lyft there and back each day without trouble. My room was clean and the staff were nice. Breakfast was average at best for a buffet costing over $20. I had a free breakfast voucher but skipped it on the last day because the choices were the same each morning. Bethlehem, who worked in the breakfast area, was a delight to talk with.

The room was basic and clean, but nothing special. The lobby is nicely set up, which is cute when you're barely sleeping enough to enjoy it. The beds felt like concrete. Calling them firm doesn't cover it, and extra pillows weren't available. Housekeeping seems to clock out like Cinderella and take all the comfort with them. The noise was unreal, like jackhammers in the middle of the night. If that sounds soothing to you, this is your paradise. The parking situation was bad too. I'll generously assume there was a language barrier when the front desk associate told me handicap parking was available, because there wasn't any on the level that was open. The garage entrance looked like an urban survival documentary, not a welcoming sight after paying hotel prices. For one night, you'll survive. Longer than that, I wouldn't recommend it unless sleep, accessibility, and basic comfort are low on your list.

Check-in went smoothly, and the location was convenient for what we needed. The room was comfortable enough, had the basics, and the property was generally clean and well kept. Nothing stood out, though. Service was a bit hit-or-miss, and some parts of the hotel could use refreshing to meet the brand's usual standard. It was an okay stay, just not memorable. A decent, reliable choice for a night or two.

I stay here often when I'm in Crystal City for meetings. It's convenient for getting around Crystal City and very close to Reagan National Airport. I always like starting breakfast with Bethlehem. Her smile, great service, and plenty of coffee help get the day going.
