Motel 6 Arlington, TX - UTA

I won’t stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I chose this place because I needed somewhere to stay with my cat, and the location was convenient, but dealing with the staff was awful. Most mornings they knocked around 10:30, sometimes early and sometimes late, yelling that it was checkout before I could explain I was already heading down. I’d extended my stay, and I had to leave for work at 5:45, about an hour away, so I asked if my daughter could stay in the room with my key and ID and pay for the next day. The man said yes. Then, before 11:30, she called me crying because he was trying to make her leave. I called to explain I was an hour away and reminded them what he’d agreed to, but they threatened to kick her out and kept yelling about checkout. Another time, I was told I couldn’t stay because the room wasn’t clean, though I’d been there all day. They’d knocked and asked if I was staying, I said yes and planned to pay, then they didn’t come back. The next day he wanted to inspect the room and blamed my cat for a deep floor scratch. My cat didn’t do that, it looked like furniture had been moved and scraped the floor. The sink stayed clogged and overflowed when I tried to wash my face. The refrigerator was unsteady, so drinks could fall over, and the shower kept cutting off, leaving cold water. The man’s rude, impatient behavior every morning made a bad stay even worse.

Mike booked me in tonight and got me a great Friday evening price. I’ve been coming here for two years, and the staff recognizing me feels nice. Everyone’s respectful and the hospitality is always good. There’s a gas station across the street within walking distance, plus a 24-hour Mexican restaurant, Taco Bell, and other places to eat. I’ve never seen roaches or bedbugs here, or had lice.

The room was quiet and about what I expected from a Motel 6, with the basic bed, shower, and TV, and the price was cheap. I also liked being close to UT Arlington and other amenities. The front desk experience was rough, though. When I arrived, the door was locked and nobody was inside. I waited 15 minutes for someone to come back from lunch, with no sign explaining the absence, and several calls went unanswered. That cost the place points for customer service.

I left after the rate for extending jumped to $75. I’d told the clerk when I checked in on 12.22.2025 that I wanted one more night, and he said to come back in the morning. When I did, a man said the extension would cost $75 and that he couldn’t give me the low rate I’d originally paid. I found the same hotel for $44, only a dollar more than my first rate. I also asked for late checkout and was told there’d be a fine for anything later than 11:15. I got what was supposedly a corporate number and am writing this so people know this location feels scammy. I wouldn’t stay here.
