For somewhere billed as four stars, the rough bath tissue and especially the towels were a letdown, almost sandpaper. The room had an ironing board but no iron, and the advertised Mobile Key rarely worked. WiFi was available through the building except on the second floor, where conferences are held, even though reliable internet matters most there. That access is sold separately to conference organizers instead of being available to individual attendees. Even the included standard WiFi was slow enough to interfere with streaming unless you paid for the upgraded tier. Those basics made the stay feel more like a three-star property, despite excellent staff and common areas. The location in Crystal City was excellent, close to both the airport and downtown DC. Staff were consistently friendly, housekeeping cleaned daily, and the lobby coffee shop and bar with live evening music made the place feel warm and inviting. One small service problem: I told the front desk twice that I was parking for just one night, and they gave me a garage exit ticket. At checkout, though, the bill charged parking for my whole stay. The desk corrected it as soon as I pointed it out, but if I hadn't checked the digital invoice right away, it could have been frustrating after I left.

The rooms are spacious and fairly clean, and the staff are nice. Parking costs $38 a night plus tax. I get hot easily, so I'd bring a portable fan. The rooms are extremely warm, and you can't turn the temperature down much. We woke up sweating every night.

The club lounge and its breakfast were really nice, and the on-site restaurant was excellent, with delicious food and top-notch service. Staff were very friendly and made check-in easy. My room stayed spotless and well maintained. I had a small issue with the TV remote, but it was fixed after a few tries. I had a fantastic stay at this Marriott property and will definitely stay again next time I'm in town.

I parked in their garage while flying out of DCA and paid half what I would have paid for DCA parking. The shuttle was comfortable, and both the hotel staff and shuttle driver gave A+ service and were courteous. Best pricing and service. I prefer it to parking at DCA.

I picked Renaissance hoping it would be better than the many other hotels in the area, but I was very disappointed. The lobby decorations were okay, though I couldn't see where the luxury was. Lounge access was closed during the holiday hours. Guests with lounge access were meant to get breakfast in the downstairs restaurant, but the food there wasn't good. I refused to eat the buffet after the first day, even though I had to stay more days. So sad. At breakfast we waited 15 minutes to be seated, with about six people in line. The dining area wasn't busy, and employees saw us but deliberately walked...
