Super 8 By Wyndham Asbury Park

This happened in early January 2025. I went to meet someone for a hookup and arrived at the room. A man answered the door, and I immediately noticed there was no sign anyone else was staying there. He tried to get me into the shower right away, which made me very uncomfortable. I took all my belongings into the bathroom, and then he tried to make me leave my clothes outside. When I refused, I heard the room door slam. I understood what was happening and left. I got a text from the number I'd been using that said, "police were on the way, this is an employee and we caught you on camera." By then I was halfway up the highway to the QuickChek, and I wasn't sticking around after realizing I may have been about to be robbed. I'm not sure whether an employee arranged this or someone had broken in and pretended it was their room. It seemed strange that someone other than an insider could access an empty room. The man was a slim African American male, over 6'3. If you stay here, be aware this is the kind of trash that lurks around this motel.

The room had several problems. The bedding didn't look clean, and my blanket had a large cigarette burn. There was a pretty big leak under the bathroom sink on both days, and the shower was small and uncomfortable. There's no bathroom outlet for a blow dryer. On our last night, guests a couple of rooms away stood outside talking and laughing loudly and playing music in their room, so we couldn't sleep. Garbage was all around the outside of the hotel. We got so angry that we packed our bags and left at 4:30 a.m. My dad and I had wanted to spend a couple of days together on a mini Father-Daughter vacation, and he chose this reasonably priced hotel. I guess we won't be staying again.

(June 2023) This is a motel, but that's no excuse for the state of the rooms. Housekeeping seemed to just make the beds, with little or no effort to clean. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed in who knows how long. There were caked-on stains with hair on the wall, which was foul. Most disgusting of all, every set of white linens had mystery stains, even the fresh ones I asked the front desk for. The linens are overdue for replacement, and even the lampshades were disgusting. I'm more than sure I saw a blood stain. The customer service was good, but something needs to change. Either new housekeeping staff or management needs to tighten things up. Images attached.

The laundry room shook the whole floor, people yelled outside all night, and the room was filthy and loud. There were stains on the mattress, floor, lampshade, walls, doors, and pretty much everything. Guests were so upset with their stays that the cops were called. We should've slept in our car instead. Smoke detectors chirped for days, and staff neither fixed nor removed them. There was no breakfast or coffee, just one towel in the room, and no option for early check-in. This was absolutely the worst place and so disappointing.
