Economy Inn Ashburn GA I-75

We'd reserved ahead with pay at the property, but on arrival were told the WiFi was down and cash was required. The owner's ATM was down too, and he said he'd already turned away 11 people for the same reason. I went back to the car and returned with cash. Since I was traveling with my elderly father, who can't climb stairs, I asked for a main floor room. They said none were on the ground floor, and when I asked about an elevator, the answer was no again. I said the experience so far was poor and my review would say so. Then they refused us service for being difficult, essentially telling us to leave because we'd leave a bad rating. Looking at the other reviews, this seems to happen often at this motel. For peace of mind, I'd skip it. We went one stop down and found a small, clean room for a third of the price, with a gentleman at the desk who was more than happy to help.

My wife and I were looking for a place to rest on our way to Michigan before getting back on the road. The room had no fresh air conditioning because it had been turned off "to save energy," and as we got our things ready for bed, we spotted bugs in several places. When I spoke to the front desk helper "Sunny," he wouldn't take responsibility, wouldn't say whether he was the manager, and didn't want to accommodate us. Please skip this hotel. We'll be contacting the Georgia health department. If you love yourself and your family, DO NOT STAY HERE.

The staff were amazing and friendly, and it was so quiet. One of the best places I've stayed on my journey. I'd love to come back someday!

Our power came back just two minutes after we paid because the hurricane had knocked it out. They wouldn't refund us, even though we never got near the room. Having to stay in this dump shows we aren't wealthy. Thanks for the great customer service.
