1900 Inn on Montford

We came away with a new favorite place to book in Asheville, after visiting the city about six times over the years. Shawnie and Willy made us feel at home from arrival to departure. They’re kind, friendly, nonjudgmental hosts who clearly love both their inn and the city. Willy’s waffles deserve an 11/10. The inn sits on a quiet street, an easy walk from downtown restaurants and everything going on there. It’s a well-appointed historic B&B. I’m already planning to use the shower in the Cloisters room as inspiration when I remodel my own bathroom.

On our second visit, the Inn was just as lovely as we remembered. Breakfast each morning was incredible, and they easily worked around a gluten allergy. The hosts are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and beautiful, and we especially like the spa bathroom amenities. We’ll stay whenever we can.

Traveling with my dogs was wonderfully easy here. There was already a bed and bowls in the room, homemade treats for them, and I only had to bring their food. The town was easy with dogs too, since every store we visited allowed them. That made Asheville a no-brainer for this trip, especially when boarding can cost so much and leaving our fur babies behind feels awful. We loved sitting on the porch with the dogs in the peaceful atmosphere. The 1900 Inn on Montford was spotless and beautifully cared for, with cookies and drinks waiting whenever we came back. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the fresh banana pudding, which you don’t find everywhere. If you want a place that truly welcomes dogs instead of merely allowing them, this inn and Asheville are hard to beat. I’d absolutely stay again.

Waking up to breakfast was a treat every morning, and they handled my pescatarian diet really well. The homemade chocolate croissants, fruit, omelets and other dishes were all tasty, as were Shawnie’s cookies. Willy and Shawnie were among the best parts of our stay, and every part was incredible. The rooms are thoughtfully put together, the beds comfortable, and the spa shower relaxing. The location is convenient, in a cute, very walkable neighborhood. We’ll definitely come back.
