Lithia Springs Resort

We loved having bicycles available, since the resort is just outside Ashland and too far to walk into town. It was a lovely break during a long road trip. Our room was roomy, warm, cozy, and comfortable, with just the right amenities. The mineral soaking tub was wonderful.

The staff were really friendly, and teatime had a nice range of good choices. The rooms were nice, and the lobby and spa looked fancy, with some good-looking fireplaces. It’s probably one of the more romantic hotels in Ashland, and maybe one of the better ones around here, though my stay was a letdown after the nice first impression. The pool was small, the hot tub was scalding, and a huge leaf-covered net over the koi pond made the fish hard to see. The shower water smelled strange, a bit like a furnace, and freeway traffic made a lot of noise. Getting pool towels meant walking about 400 feet to the lobby. After getting out of the hot tub, we found out we had to make that walk in the freezing cold to dry off. It was okay, but nothing special.

Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of choices. The property and room were beautiful, with gardens and fish, and the water was amazing, hot and soothing in both the tubs and showers. The blue tint in the photos is real, not edited. Our only complaint was loud noise starting at 7 a.m. right beside our room, the Waterlily Suite, which is next to the spa. Noise may be hard to avoid in that room, but it wasn't great for light sleepers.

Katie turned a lovely night into a special one by upgrading me to a suite when I arrived. I’d never been upgraded before, and the quiet, dreamy suite with its huge soaking tub felt like royal treatment. I’d already been looking forward to the tub beside the bed. I was traveling south last November and found this hotel to be a great value, quaint and cozy, with thoughtful touches and good amenities. Thanks again, Katie!
