Quality Inn Ashland I-71 and US 250

The room had several problems: the bathroom door trim looked partly replaced and unfinished, the room door wouldn’t latch, and the bed creaked so badly it felt like it might drop to the floor. I was also charged an extra $150 on top of the $375 I’d paid at check-in. We were in town for a dog show, and I was cleaning a puppy’s kennel after it had an accident. I’d parked near the back, brought my own paper towels, cleaner, and trash bag, and put the waste in the dumpster. A man came out, asked whether we’d stayed there, and then said four dogs were too many. I explained they hadn’t stayed in the room, but he called me a liar. I have video of the room and the door that wouldn’t close, and reviews from other places about how clean my dogs and I are when we stay. I was very unhappy with this place and wouldn’t recommend it. It was overpriced compared with the Hampton across the street, and the people running it were difficult to deal with. I should’ve gone somewhere else when I heard the rate. A room that should’ve cost no more than $200 ended up costing me $525.

The front desk staff were very kind and helpful, but the bed felt like cardboard and the breakfast choices were limited and didn’t look appetizing. I booked because the photos showed a hot tub, but there wasn’t one. If you just need an inexpensive place to stay, it’s an okay option. You get what you pay for.

Good for a vacation, and it’s nice to see a Quality Inn around. There’s a pool in the lobby area, plus AC for both hot and cold seasons. Breakfast includes a waffle machine, and the waffles are right on the spot. The sausage was tasty, though someone took all the scrambled eggs without sharing. The laundry room is on the first floor, but the vending machine was nearly empty and needs restocking. McDonald’s is across a busy road, so be careful crossing. Wendy’s is next door, and Taco Bell is nearby. WiFi needs a password, but I’m keeping that to myself!

They confirmed my room booking in advance, but when I arrived, they asked for my ID. I went to the car to get it, and when I came back they suddenly said the payment had been declined. If that was the case, how had the reservation been confirmed? They then told me to contact the third-party company and get them to pay, which shouldn’t be the guest’s responsibility.
