We didn’t ski Aspen because the 2026 season had poor snow, but our IKON pass let us ride the gondola up for free. We took in the views, stopped for a drink at the top, and enjoyed the atmosphere. The mix of trees, sky, and snowy peaks was breathtaking. Around the bar, tables, and outdoor benches, the lodge had a fun apres ski feel, and everyone we met was kind and helpful. I had a really nice time and hope to try skiing here someday.

Ajax is surprisingly busy in summer, when the snow is gone and the mountain turns into a green sanctuary at 11,000 feet. There’s bluegrass on weekends, gondola rides, and fresh mountain air. What’s not to like?

The ski patrol were especially helpful to our group, and such nice people. This is a beautiful place to visit and take photos. Definitely ride the gondola, the views are spectacular.

The lift pass can be shared with the other mountains, and the snow is great, especially after 4-5 inches of fresh powder. It’s a must, even though holiday prices are high.

The scenery is stunning, the skiing is fantastic, and the vibe is great. Just keep in mind it’s a tougher mountain for beginners. Snowmass or Buttermilk are nearby, only a short shuttle or bus ride away, and might be better places to start.
