The people at Cardinal Village made this trip for us. Everyone was so warm and seemed to truly enjoy helping guests get to know the area. We also discovered how lush the aspen forest is and learned about the property's history. Pizza night was a highlight, especially chatting with the Bishop locals who come regularly. After six days of camping and backpacking in the Eastern Sierra, my fiance and I spent three nights in the Baboon cabin to celebrate our engagement and wind down. It was clean and simple, with a comfortable bed. We liked having the gas grill and fire pit in the evenings. Firewood and s'mores kits are sold at the store. There was great hiking and fishing nearby during the day. A few things I'd tell other guests: leave room for slow mornings with coffee in the rocking chairs and time to wander the property. Get a Cardinal Village mug early for free coffee. Keep food out of your car and the windows rolled up, there's a curious bear around that wanted to investigate my backpack. Say hi to Poe the cat. Also check what cooking gear your cabin has. Baboon has a microwave and grill, but no stove, so pick up groceries in Mammoth or Bishop on the way. It felt like adult summer camp, and we loved our stay. We hope to come back for another getaway. Thanks so much!

We came by to see this quaint Aspendell resort and have breakfast at the café. The food was simple, but tasty and well prepared, and the service was friendly. Eating outside on the deck was lovely. Next time, we'd like to try the lawn tables beneath the trees.

I've only dropped in to pick up a few things and have breakfast a couple of times during visits, but the small menu has been fantastic and generous. Service is friendly, though you need to be a local or a regular to get much conversation. I haven't stayed in the rooms yet, though I'd like to someday. It's a charming little village with a loyal crowd. I've also stopped by for a few family-friendly get-togethers where everyone seems to have a good time. If you need a short break from the rat race, I'd recommend visiting.

Thanksgiving here was lovely. I enjoyed everything and plan to come back next year.

Our daughter's wedding here was pure magic. The setting was gorgeous and one of a kind, the catering was delicious, and the staff were wonderful and understanding. The bride, groom, family, and friends could not have asked for a more beautiful, rustic, and special day. Thank you, CV! You're the happiest place on earth.
