Microtel Inn by Wyndham Athens

The bed was comfortable enough to sleep well, but it sat far too high off the floor for someone who has trouble walking. Also, the shower in our handicap accessible room wasn't handheld like the pictures showed, which made it very hard for my husband to bathe properly.

There was no breakfast, and the building reeked of weed, cigarette smoke, and mold. Nothing felt clean. The room hadn't been vacuumed, there was hair all over the beds, and it smelled like urine. One bed had a large pee stain, the blankets had other stains, and sticky goo was on the floors and along the sides of the bed. There were bugs in the bathroom, too. When we tried to open the window to air out the smell, it fell out. The wall pads and the area under the window were absolutely disgusting. If you don't want to feel like you're sleeping on other people's bodily substances, don't stay here.

A solid stay for the price, with a clean room, convenient location, and quick check-in. Big thanks to Varma at the front desk, a really nice, helpful guy who made everything easier. Definitely a good stop if you're in Athens!

The only good thing was being close to the hospital. The room was dirty and needed a lot of TLC, the bathroom leaked, there were water bugs in the tub, and there were holes in the walls. Fortunately, the bed was mostly clean. We only stayed because it was an emergency, otherwise we'd have left right away. It isn't worth the money, especially if you're booking online. Don't waste it here.
