We really liked the Athenian's location. We could walk a short distance to several downtown restaurants, and enjoyed the beautiful porch and yard for pre-game cocktails. We also met people from several different states. The room and common areas were impeccably clean, and every detail of the decor was beautiful. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and willing to help with requests.

I was skeptical about staying at The Athenian before we arrived, but ended up so pleased with the experience. We stayed in Hera, which was lovely and comfortable, with gorgeous rooms and thoughtful amenities. Lauren, the owner, even provides a clothes steamer in the room, which thrilled me since few hotels offer one. The common areas are beautiful and comfortable too. Lauren keeps them stocked with snacks and all kinds of drinks, and as a bit of a wine snob, I thought her selection was excellent. We loved our stay and hope to be back soon!

The price was right, and we found a new favorite restaurant just a block away, with fabulous food and lively service. Our overnight had everything we wanted. The rooms bring together historic preservation and modern conveniences, and each has its own attractive style. The interior design is compelling, with remarkable attention to detail. Keyless entry let us come and go freely, and the plentiful snacks and drinks were high quality. We'll be back!

There's so much care in the details here, from the decor and communication to the quality of the complimentary snacks and drinks. It combines old charm with a luxe feel, and the hospitality is better than at the ritz. We only stayed one night while passing through, and wished we could've stayed longer.

We had a moms getaway with six of us, and it was great that each person could have a private room. The beautiful rooms, lovely common spaces, and easy walk to everything downtown made for a magical stay. The location is amazing. I'd recommend it for a solo stay or a group, and I'll choose this place every time I need a room in Athens.
