I usually prefer independent hotels, though some can be hit or miss. Sandhills was a real find: clean, quiet, and up to date.

The room was clean and comfortable, and reception was friendly. I stayed three nights. Breakfast was the one letdown, just cereal and juice in a fridge, plus bagels and bread.

The breakfast isn't the best, but the staff are friendly and helpful, which made for a great stay. It's a nice little hotel just off the highway.

Everything was immaculately clean and felt super fresh. It was quiet, and we got a good night's rest. I'm picky and usually stick to places rated four stars or higher, but this is definitely better than two stars. Breakfast still isn't good. For the $130 we spent, some local baked goods, fresh fruit, and local coffee would make this nice local place even better. The coffee was really bad, so use the little Keurig in your room. Still, I'm glad to support the town.

The beds were very comfortable, and the place was super clean. Everyone was friendly too. It was as nice as some more expensive suites we've stayed in.
