Hyatt Place Atlanta Centennial Park

We came for a quick getaway and the hotel itself was very clean. I didn’t know we were supposed to get a breakfast card at check-in the night before. The woman in the breakfast area was helpful and said we should have received a welcome package, but neither my husband nor I got anything. Sleep was rough because the couple next door argued around midnight, and we could hear everything. Their TV stayed on all morning, so I barely slept. I’m not sure if they were drunk. I guess that can happen at a downtown hotel.

The staff were great, and the room was clean with a really good bed. Breakfast was decent. Parking is valet only and costs $60. We ate elsewhere, so I can’t comment on the hotel bar or restaurant. It was a good stay overall. Booking.com gave me a better deal than reserving through Hyatt directly. 🤷

Kaiden was especially great. I had to leave early because of difficult circumstances outside my control, and he worked with a sales manager to find a solution. He called me once they’d settled it. His kindness meant a lot during a hard personal time, and I’ll definitely return to Atlanta and feel even more loyal to IHG. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, with spacious rooms and a great location. Thanks, Kaiden!

Breakfast was complimentary and enjoyable, and the staff were friendly. The room, though, really put a damper on our family’s Hyatt stay. Maybe we got unlucky or it was an off day, but there were handprints on the door, orange marks on the curtains, grease on the headboard, and pink stains on the linens. There were blood stains on both the mattress and what was supposed to be a mattress protector. I asked housekeeping for fresh linens and changed them myself, so the staff were nice about it, but it was still a lot to deal with. The bathroom also smelled like sweaty construction worker feet as soon as the water came on. I can’t tell if that was the water or the shower walls. The wall near the bathroom was exposed, and my one year old picked crumbled pieces off the floor. The corner protector by the bathroom doorway was peeling, too. Under the pullout we found lots of crumbs, a soda cup lid, a spoon, and mints. The pullout pillows had black stains on both sides, and there was a hardened orange gummy by the bedside that I’m glad I spotted before my child did. We also hadn’t realized there’d be a $60 overnight valet fee, which caught us off guard. The staff were friendly, and everything we needed to reach was walkable, but the area didn’t feel like somewhere to walk around after sunset. There were quite a few homeless people nearby, and my husband had a rough, loud encounter with an older man who later sat outside on a bench. That put him off walking down the strip to get dinner. I probably wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.
