Motel 6 Smyrna, Ga - Atlanta

I canceled my reservation right away and found another hotel that felt a hundred times better. This place was like going from hell to heaven. The photos are altered, since the rooms don’t look like them, and I’d tell people to find somewhere else nearby. From the outside it looked abandoned, and inside smelled like wet dog, smoke, and mold. The carpets seemed extremely dirty. I asked the front desk guy if I could check in early since I’d arrived before my time. He was rude and condescending, and wanted to charge me $30. The day before, he’d charged people I knew $20 for early check-in. When we went up in the elevator to the floor where my friends had a room, there was a roach crawling up the wall. Their room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, with a broken bathroom door, dingy walls, and a heavy cigarette smell.

This wasn’t a planned stop, I just needed a place to sleep for the night. The room smelled like tobacco. The bed was huge, and I didn’t see any bugs, though they might’ve been there.

Things went smoothly, and communication was good. You just have to speak up and let them know.

Sleep was out of the question, with loud music and noisy guests going through the night. We paid $70 for a room that was nasty, unkempt, and felt completely unsafe. I wouldn’t stay here unless you want to put yourself and your family in a dangerous, unsanitary place. This place should be shut down. The whole establishment reeked of marijuana, not faintly either, and sketchy people were hanging around. We saw people openly smoking in the hallways. It didn’t feel like a place for a family, or frankly anyone. The room smelled awful too. The bedsheets had cigarette burns, the restroom looked as though it had never been cleaned and seemed like a biohazard, and the floors were filthy. Even the supposedly clean towels had questionable stains. My family and I endured one horrific night here, the worst hotel experience of our lives.
