I’ve been a Total Rewards member for a long time, and Caesar’s has always been my preferred Atlantic City casino. I checked in on Saturday, March 7, for the Sherri shepherd show at the Borgata, and checked out Sunday the 8th using the express box near the front desk. I paid $559, but after this experience I don’t plan to stay at Caesar’s again. There are plenty of other places to choose from. When I checked in, I told the front desk agent, Anita, that I have heart failure and needed a room near an elevator. I was assigned a room that felt at least a mile away. I asked another agent, a young Caucasian man, for help, and he checked the chart and found a room closer to an elevator. I’m grateful he took the time. On Sunday, while waiting for valet parking, I remembered I’d left my house keys and other things in room 623. At 70 and with heart failure, walking back and forth was hard. The young woman at the desk told me I needed my ID, but her attitude wasn’t helpful. I heard her tell another person that she’d said she was busy. I walked back, out of breath, to the valet area to get my ID. Another agent, an African American woman, said she’d called security to escort me because I couldn’t manage the distance. I waited in the seating area as she’d asked, and distinctly heard her tell security I couldn’t walk that far. After an hour, no one had come. A woman in a security uniform, Caucasian with reddish hair, noticed me and I flagged her down. I explained about my keys, she politely took the room number, and she returned with them. This isn’t about race, as I’m an African American woman. I was used to kindness and professionalism at Caesar’s, and was disappointed by the lack of interest in me as a paying customer and member. Please show more respect to members and anyone who needs help. I worked for many years as a paralegal, and know that professionalism means paying attention to a client’s needs and helping resolve the problem. The security staff member took a moment to help someone in distress, and I’m grateful to her. This whole episode involved two hours of waiting and not being helped.

If you’re going for the location and reasonably priced rooms, the renovated sections are a good choice. We booked a weekend in the newly renovated towers, and the rooms were clean, updated, and nice. The casino wasn’t that great. There seemed to be more action on the smoking floor and downstairs where the live entertainment was. If gambling is your main reason for going, you might want to stay elsewhere.

The inside of this casino hotel was beautiful, and the customer service was excellent. The valet and bell hop were on point. My Centurion Tower room was awesome: clean, spacious, and with amazing water views from the 35th floor. I hadn’t stayed at Caesars Resort Atlantic City since living in the area more than twenty years ago, and this visit was just as nice, if not better. I’ll recommend it and definitely come back soon.

My wife and I won’t ever stay at Caesars Atlantic City again. I’ve visited Atlantic City for many years, but chose Caesars for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. The front desk representatives were nice and respectful when we arrived, but our first room hadn’t been cleaned or prepared for the next guests. It was close to midnight, and we were exhausted from the drive, so we went back downstairs to report it. They gave us a suite to try to make things right, but that room was a disaster too. I saw roaches, something I’d never encountered in an Atlantic City hotel before. There was no way we’d stay there. They transferred us to Tropicana, which I could already have chosen with a comp room, so it felt like they were presenting it as a favor when it wasn’t. The only other offer was a $50 Caesars Rewards credit, and by then it was after midnight. A few days later I called customer relations, but they said they couldn’t offer anything else. I couldn’t believe it. Roaches are a hard no for me.

I paid $629 a night, but the room I got didn’t match the picture online. When I raised it at the front desk, they weren’t helpful and offered an upgrade for extra money. They said that, as a Gold member, they’d give me a discount on the upgrade, which had one bed and a sofa in a suite. I was with my wife and teenage daughter, and the room felt like a jail cell. The window looked onto a steel barrier, the carpet was old, and the bathroom was motel quality rather than hotel quality. This was almost the worst hotel stay of my life. I’ll never go back to Caesar hotel, and I’ll tell people this is one of the worst hotels they could stay at.
