AC Lodge by Beach and Boardwalk

After being on the road for around 8-9 hours, we didn't want to stay, but the first room had bugs in the bathroom and one crawled up my arm while I was on the bed. We told the front desk we were leaving and asked for our money back, but they refused. They showed us another room that was still junky, though it seemed much cleaner and had no bugs, so we stayed. It was hard to find the check-in entrance, and the room looked like it might have been okay in the 50s, but everything felt terrible. We were only planning to sleep for about 10 hours before going to the boardwalk. I wouldn't recommend it, not even as a quick stop.

We drove five hours, and I couldn't stand being in the room for more than a few seconds. The walls had mold, there were roaches crawling around, and the room seemed structurally unsafe. The smell reminded me of bodily fluids. At check-in, Bbijan didn't seem concerned when I raised the safety problems, and he looked unsurprised by the photos and video I took. It's sad that the company had posted a sympathetic response more than a month ago saying it would address the issues, yet they were still happening. How can they keep letting families stay in a room like this, especially when it costs a fortune? It's meant to be a place for families to make memories, but this was a nightmare. Shame on them.

We checked out shortly after arriving. People were screaming and yelling in the parking lot every few minutes, and there were prostitutes coming and going, with drug users and homeless people camping by the building. The room was dirty, the carpet was wet and soggy, graffiti covered the walls, and roaches came out from behind the bed and in the bathroom. I was afraid to sit on the bed or take off my shoes. I considered sleeping in my car, but the parking lot felt just as unsafe. The front desk refused a refund when I spoke with them. Don't waste your time or money.

I paid for parking, and my vehicle was damaged. Now I'm facing $1500.00 in repair costs, and they won't let me speak with the manager. The paint was peeling, there was a mold smell in every room, and the toilet had no pressure. Even my kids didn't feel safe in their room, and my oldest is 22. They said it was worse than where we live. I deleted and reposted my review because I still can't reach a manager. The response said to contact them for a resolution, but the only number we can call is the front desk, and they refuse to pass me to a manager. If the real owner cares about customers, they should respond with a phone number and make this right. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. This place should be shut down.
