Super 8 by Wyndham Atlantic City

We only needed a room to change before a concert, and after reading reviews mentioning roaches and other problems, we decided to leave right away. We drove home instead, even though avoiding a late drive was exactly why my sister and I had booked a room. The room reeked of cheap cologne, and its large bathroom window had no blinds, so there was no privacy. We'd stayed in budget hotels before, but this place felt unsafe, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially to women or anyone traveling alone. The surrounding area felt extremely unsafe and run-down. Within the first two hours, a couple of different men approached us, the street looked sketchy, and the building right next door was shut down and falling apart. It felt like something out of a dystopian movie. I wouldn't say the hotel is entirely to blame, since the whole area seems to have deteriorated, but I'd strongly advise avoiding this part of New Jersey if you can.

I paid for the room in advance and hadn't caused any trouble, but the manager and his son were disrespectful. After the son and I had a verbal altercation, the manager did nothing to calm things down and got into an argument with me too. ACPD came after they were called. The manager showed them video of the altercation, and they saw that he had made a racist comment, but ACPD still told me to leave at his request. I came out to have fun and make money, but had to cut the trip short. THANK GOD, BOOKING.COM refunded me for the unused days🫡

The stay wasn't family suitable. At checkout, the maintenance man arrived five minutes early and watched and rushed my family while we got ready to leave. The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned well, and there were bugs and roaches inside and outside the rooms. Service was unpleasant and unprofessional, with no accommodations. When we arrived, the elevator and phone weren't working, the pool was out of order, and I had to switch my key card three times because the doors were broken. The so-called free breakfast was just a brown bag with two packaged muffins. Not a good stay.

A mouse showed up while I was sitting in the chair early in the morning. The towels had hair on them, the bathroom wasn't up to par, the shower curtain had mold, and a light looked ready to fall from the ceiling. There was an ironing board but no iron. The microwave and ice were both in the lobby. The pool was closed, the elevator didn't work, and breakfast was just a muffin. I reserved a smoking room but got a non-smoking one, and had to pull up my email to prove what I'd booked. The booking also didn't tell me about the $15 parking fee or the extra $100. The front desk was rude to my daughter and me. This was not a good stay.
