The breakfast was pretty bare bones: toast, cereal, one yogurt, coffee, and hot water with no tea bags. You could buy hot chocolate, and there was waffle batter and an iron, but be prepared to eat with a spork. The room situation was awful. In the first room, the door wouldn't close properly and the bathroom plastic was peeling off the walls. In the second, two of the three lamps were broken, the faucet leaked, the tub was disgusting, and the shower curtain was covered in mold. We couldn't get a blanket that first night, and when one finally turned up the next day after we kept asking, it had a huge hole. The room looked so bad that we went to the nearest Walmart for bedbug spray. Bring your own pillows. The ones there were gross.

The bed was comfortable, and the room itself was just okay, nothing fancy. But they don't make it clear during booking that there's an extra $100.00 deposit, and it takes many days to get it back. Parking was too tight for a semi or a hotshot truck with a 30-40 ft trailer. Breakfast wasn't good, and the photos make it look different. The coffee was bad too.

I won't be coming back. The manager was nice enough to give me new pillows, which is the only reason I'm giving one star. The room was nasty: stained, unclean sheets, gross pillows and pillow underneath the case, a dirty floor, and three roaches that we killed. There wasn't even a trash can. When I asked for fresh sheets, they brought one new sheet and a pillowcase. I told the woman how dirty everything was, and she got huffy and walked away. She came back with a new pillow still in its plastic after the manager got involved. People had warned me not to walk alone around this hotel, which was scary to hear.

The manager was kind when I arrived and asked for a room away from other guests, since I'm an intern in Gadsden. The first room impression wasn't good, though. It hadn't been cleaned when I got there and didn't smell clean, so I kept it Lysol while I was there. Later, the manager got upset about my hair dye getting on his pillows and said replacing them would cost about 20.00. He said he'd given me the room and expected me to do right. I apologized for the inconvenience. I was there only two weeks, and he showed me how they were getting paid while claiming my room was cleaned daily. They told me they wouldn't clean every day because I was staying two weeks, and there wasn't a vacuum to clean the floors. My tub wasn't cleaned, and toilet tissue, rags, and towels weren't replaced. They were also upset when I called downstairs about bedding with what looked like urine stains. They said it was clean and the stains just hadn't come out, so I ended up sleeping on stained bedding. The male housekeeper started asking a lot of questions on day two, including whether I was leaving when I was walking to my car. I said I was running an errand and would be back. The next morning, at 9, I heard him and his wife talking loudly outside my room, then he knocked and said “house keeping.” I told him I didn't need service that day. Two days later I called the desk to request a room cleaning, bed made, and fresh towels. When I came back from interning, nothing had been done. I reported it to the front desk. His wife saw me outside, rolled her eyes, and said, “folks talking about I’m not doing my job and cleaning their rooms.” She told the desk I was too “demanding” for reporting that she neglected to clean my room only twice a week. When I tried talking with them, he spoke while she walked behind him like she wanted to fight, so I went back to my room. I called the manager to suggest he check that the rooms were being cleaned, but he put the phone down and started helping other guests without responding. For the money you pay, you deserve top of the line service. I won't return. It got very unprofessional near the end of my stay, and one experience was enough. Save yourself the trouble and go to comfort inn, or other hotels in Attalla. You're welcome.

Breakfast was poor, with hardly any waffle batter, only a few yogurts, and warm coffee. The room was a letdown too: dusty corners and an ironing board, low quality towels, hair in the sink and on the bathroom floor when we arrived, and bugs crawling around. Just a very disappointing stay.
