Autrain Motel

Good value for a simple place to sleep and shower. The room was small but clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower got hot. There’s a kitchenette with a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, sink, and fridge, plus a small TV. Staff work out of the grocery next door and were kind and attentive. It’s 30 mins from Marquette and 10 mins from Munising, with Lake Superior beach access within walking distance. Can’t beat the price!

The location felt good and safe, and the bed sheets were clean, but I can’t recommend this motel. The towels seemed like they may have been laundered, though they were old and stained. Water from the toilet and sink faucet was brown, the TV and wifi didn’t work, and the AC and furnace looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. It’s a very old, outdated motel. 0 stars.

There’s a cute little store next door with gas, food, and groceries, and the stay was definitely affordable. I paid $252 for the weekend, almost $74 a night, which wasn’t bad. I had two bedrooms, a small bathroom, and cooking necessities. The beds were hard and there was no hot water, but it was a warm place to sleep. It needs upgrades, though I had a very good experience and will be coming back. Thank you 😊

We slept great despite the beds being a little hard. Everything was clean, the shower was plenty hot, and the room had a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The motel is in a great location. The rooms are very dated, though, and the water was slightly discolored, so we bought a big thing of water from the grocery store next door for drinking. The price initially looked pretty reasonable, but an extra $30 hotel fee gets added, making it pretty expensive for this level of room.
