Baymont by Wyndham Auburn

The location is nice and the room was a decent size, but I won't be back or recommend it. We paid for a king suite with a whirlpool tub and were first given the wrong room. After arguing that we'd booked a standard room, they moved us to a king suite, but it still lacked the tub. The poolside hot tub was barely warm, the comforter between the sheets was DISGUSTING, and there appeared to be puke on the bed skirt. The shower wasn't clean, the bathroom fan was loud, and there was no hot water at the sink. Breakfast was nowhere near enough for a hotel this size. We went down at 9, an hour before it ended, and almost nothing was left. We were there for Valentine's weekend.

I booked on 1/23/26, and the hot tub had cold water. When I asked the front staff to heat it, someone turned on the water, but it overflowed and the filter was clogged. Then my shower had no hot water. I went to the desk to ask for someone to check it or move me, and they switched my room. The next shower was cold too. After I reported that, the front staff canceled my reservation, leaving me to find another hotel and spend extra money. I wouldn't recommend this place, and I'm still waiting for my refund. I also overheard the person in the room beside my first one complaining that their room was try.

We got back around 2 a.m. after dinner and a couple of bars, and found ants all over the room. There wasn't any food out, just some in the fridge. When I called for another room, I went to pack the bathroom things and found roaches too. The team acted like it was no big deal, and now they aren't returning calls about a refund. I know it's a cheap hotel, but that's still unacceptable.

The place has gotten so much better over the last couple of months. Sean, the manager, is kind, polite, professional, and really focused on making guests' stays as good as possible. Theresa is great too. I enjoy our morning chats, and the place is clean. Breakfast is just right, there's coffee all day, and the housekeepers do great work. I also love how the evening desk clerk welcomes my wife and me when we stop in. She's friendly, kind, and has a great smile. Five stars don't feel like enough.
