Heather on the overnight shift was great. She answered my questions and did what she could to help. The rest of this stay was awful. I paid $110 for one night expecting the advertised Wi-Fi, but I couldn’t get online for a work trip. When I asked at the desk, Doreen was rude and just told me to follow the paper she’d given me. I had done that, and the credentials still didn’t match their records. At check-in she said she would take $100 from my card for incidentals, but I later saw $120 taken, then another $2.74. I believe taking more than she told me was illegal, and I’m looking into it and trying to get every penny back. The rudeness and cost weren’t worth it. There’s no general manager, which may be why Doreen still has a job. I’m a general manager myself and wouldn’t let staff treat customers this way. Don’t waste your money here.

Anga was kind and helped with the air circulation problem when we spoke the next morning. I also showed her what looked like disgusting dried blood stains on the bed skirt. My son’s French toast was still frozen, too. We won’t return. After a difficult 10 hour drive, the first staff member we met scowled and seemed irritated about checking us in, so we were afraid to ask for help when the air was running but the room stayed stuffy and uncomfortable all night. Another staff member told us the person at check-in could see we’d already paid and had double charged us intentionally. The bed skirt looked dirty, breakfast was disappointing, and that first welcome was nasty. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to be disappointed. See the photo of the bed skirt.

Breakfast was really good, though the weekday hours, 6 to 9 a.m., felt a bit short. Coffee and hot water are always available in the lobby. We stayed for two days, and the room wasn’t checked on the first day. The tissues were empty, there were no fresh towels or coffee supplies, and the garbage hadn’t been emptied. I made the bed myself, which was fine. Less traffic in the room is nice, but guests should get a checklist to fill out and have requests handled quickly. Hands-off service doesn’t always feel good. At breakfast I asked an efficient worker if there was a public bathroom on the first floor, but she couldn’t speak English. An older woman left her bagel to look for one and couldn’t find it. We were rushing to get back downstairs in time, then went back to our room before checkout. We have reservations again next week for a five-day medical stay and will discuss our expectations when we arrive. If this is customer service in 2025, I’d like to see it change.

The only thing I’d change is the hash browns. The cook should leave them on until they’re at least a little brown. Everything else was close to perfect: the room was spotless, the walk-in shower was nice, the beds were really comfortable, and breakfast was good. The gentleman working the front desk the evening we arrived was the kindest, friendliest and most helpful hotel employee or manager we’ve ever met. This is the best Comfort Inn location we’ve stayed at, and one of our best hotel stays. We’d definitely come back.

At Comfort Inn Auburn-Worcester, the desk attendants were pleasant and the hot breakfast was pretty good. My room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and functional. It’s a good place to stay if quick access to a couple of Interstate highways matters more than being downtown. Recommended.
