Courtyard By Marriott Augusta

After a flight from Sweden and a drive from Atlanta, a friendly greeting made all the difference. The staff were polite and excellent. It's a Courtyard, so you know what you're getting, but they deserve a lot of credit.

I've spent quite a bit of time here over the past few years, usually because my employer books it. At nearly $200 a night, this isn't acceptable. There's no elevator, the Wi-Fi is terrible unless you pay an extra $5 a day for 20 Mbps more, and even then the total is only 40 Mbps. There's no breakfast unless you pay extra, though even cheap motels include it. This past year they also dropped the good shampoo. I once bought groceries for a pool swim and cookout with coworkers, then found out there wasn't a grill on the property. With that huge patio, you'd reasonably expect one. Someone's putting profits ahead of the guest experience. I wouldn't stay here by choice. The owner or manager needs to get it together.

My daughter comes to Augusta often from Warner Robins Ga for doctors appointments, so we choose this hotel every time. The quiet and comfort are what she needs after surgery. I know the rooms will be clean, the setting peaceful, and the staff accommodating. There's a microwave and fridge in the room, too. The nightly rate is a little more than I wanted to spend, but I keep coming back.

Easy to get to and handy for other areas, with clean rooms. The only drawback is the older building, which has no elevator.
