Crowne Plaza North Augusta by IHG

The lobby initially looks like a nice hotel, but the stay was more hassle than it was worth. We were visiting for a graduation. It took three hours to get extra towels, the toilet didn't work, and maintenance never came after I contacted them. The refrigerator was broken too. I had to call several times before anyone at the front desk picked up. Staff were gossiping and airing their grievances where guests could hear. I wouldn't stay here.

There is a lot of potential here, but the hotel doesn't feel guest focused. The rooms don't have safes, which seems strange for an upscale place. At the entrance, there's very little room to pull up during check-in, and the Transit shuttle is left right in front of the main lobby door even in the rain. Guests then have to load and unload their luggage in the wet. Management gets too defensive in response to negative feedback instead of dealing with the issues. Until that changes, I don't expect the hotel to improve.

The rooftop bar has a view over the river, and there are plenty of places within walking distance. Rooms are modern and clean, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel shuttle to the airport is reliable, and housekeeping did a tremendous job all week. I wish they offered valet dry cleaning. Very nice hotel.

Crystal at the front desk was especially kind. I made a booking mistake and arrived a day late, and she worked with me. The coffee bar was superb, with a barista making specialty drinks. The hotel is in a very convenient spot, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well appointed. Top notch. I don't understand some of the complaints here.
