DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Augusta

The Jacuzzi was brilliant, so relaxing and just what I needed to unwind. The DoubleTree Inn itself is elegant, clean, and welcoming, with a peaceful, upscale feel and lots of space. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and room service was excellent. The food was delicious and well prepared. The surroundings and service exceeded my expectations. A really relaxing, enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

I'm supposed to be here for two months, but I'm going to move to the Marriott for the rest of my stay. I'm a diamond member at Hilton and an elite member at Marriott, and Marriott always has coffee ready by at least five, without an attitude when you ask. I get up at five every morning, and I understand breakfast doesn't start until six. But I've asked all week for coffee before six, and they refuse because their manager told them not to make it until then.

It's very comfortable and quiet here, but they seem to skip a lot of small maintenance jobs, especially in the public spaces and conference rooms. Some light fixtures have missing or mismatched bulbs. The conference area bathrooms have had stall door repairs needed for years. The side entrance doors slam or seem poorly hung in their frames, and they don't close properly.

The staff were lovely, and the lobby was gorgeous. The gym was impressive too. But the pool itself was dirty, with dead bugs and clumps of hair floating around, even though the pool room looked pretty. My room was a bit dirty as well, with mud on the curtains, I hope it was mud. I won't stay here again. I'd recommend hosting a convention here, just not staying overnight.
