I was thinking of booking here, but then I read the response the manager gave to a one-star review: “I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.” That told me enough about the customer service to expect.

For the price and convenient surroundings, it was a nice place to stay. I was there briefly and didn't see any roaches or other bugs mentioned in other reviews. The amenities were good, with strong water pressure and reliably hot water. It seems suitable for a week or a month. My only gripe was that the main office had been moved to the back, which made it a bit confusing to reach.

The mini fridge worked perfectly, and, surprisingly, I didn't see any roaches. That's why I raised my rating from one to two. Otherwise, this place was run down and a long way from what I expected. There was no WiFi or phone, despite what was advertised, and the promised free continental breakfast wasn't there. The door lock was broken, so I slept with my gun by my side. During Master's weekend, a room that normally costs $45 was $180. The TV was an old Zenith, with visible resolution lines, and its remote didn't work.

We had a good visit. The only drawbacks were the tiny tub and a leaky shower head. Nothing can really be done about the tub, but maintenance could fix the shower head quickly. Otherwise, we had a great time.

Ashley was a star and gave impeccable customer service. Without her, I'd have rated this much lower. The manager didn't seem to care that our room had no TV, even after the front desk clerk pointed it out the next morning. He didn't apologize or offer to make it right. Looking back, a reputable hotel would have handled this differently, and I don't know why I let Metropolis/P House/ Executive Inn off without even an apology. The room also had mold in the tub, which made the jacuzzi unusable, and it wasn't especially cheap for the area and time of year. People may not come here for great rooms, but a working TV and a clean bathtub are basic expectations. See photographs. Two stars might even be generous.
