Quality Inn Medical Center Area

The room was clean, but the carpet, curtains, and bedspreads could use replacing and updating. That’s the only reason I’m giving four stars. I enjoyed the stay and would choose this motel again and recommend it to others. The beds were really comfortable, the room was quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The shower was the best I’ve had in a motel, with great water pressure and an amazing adjustable head. Breakfast was wonderful too, with waffles, grits, cheese, biscuits and gravy, cereal, bagels, fresh fruit and toppings, bacon, and cream cheese. It’s the best-tasting continental breakfast I’ve seen, with the most variety. For the price, I couldn’t have expected more.

The front desk staff were nice, but after arriving around 12am I was too tired to report the problems. I’d paid a last-minute rate, and this wasn’t what I’d expect from a quality inn. The furniture was dated, a dead bug was on the floor in a room that had seemed clean at first, and wood shavings around the nightstand made it look as though termites had damaged it. The cable didn’t work, and there was a crack head hanging around outside.

The location worked well for seeing everything we wanted nearby, and the breakfast was very good. All the employees were nice, and the bed was comfortable. The hot water took forever to come through, though. The only reason I’m giving three stars is the new desk girl tried to give our room to someone else and didn’t enter our stay in the system, even though we were there for two nights. It also looks like they’re partway through a remodel.

The rooms are nice, but the front desk service was awful and I was given three different explanations. The next morning at checkout, I heard the real reason for the booking issue might have been that half the hotel couldn’t be used because of a gas leak, but I don’t know if that was true. I’d booked a king room a month ahead, then got a call on check-in day saying it was overbooked and unavailable. When I said I’d reserved it a month earlier and wanted my room, the woman offered to cancel it so I wouldn’t be charged. She said only a double room was left. Once I got there and asked again, she told me someone had extended their stay, so my room wasn’t available.
