Super 8 by Wyndham Lake of the Ozarks

The room was clean, with no smoke or stale smell, and I didn’t see any bugs. It had a TV, microwave, and coffee pot. I can’t remember whether there was a fridge. Breakfast was pretty good: yogurt, cereal, toast and jelly, muffins, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and juice. But there were no lids for the coffee cups. The front desk guy tried a drawer of them, but they didn’t fit. I got burned by the hot coffee, so that’s a safety problem too. Outside, there was snow everywhere, and neither the sidewalks nor the parking lot had been cleared. When I asked about it, the guy said it had snowed a few days earlier. I asked why it still hadn’t been plowed or shoveled, since someone could fall. He asked me who he should call. I’m from out of town, so I told him to call a plow company that handles business parking lots. The front desk guy wasn’t rude, just not very friendly. I was also worried about the heat, which was blasting at 80 degrees. I like a warm room, but couldn’t sleep like that and had to turn it down. I’ve read that they do this to keep roaches away, but I didn’t see any bugs. It wasn’t a bad place, but customer service and motel management need work. They shouldn’t put all the guests on the top floor, leave snow uncleared, or crank the room heat up to 80. Coffee cups without lids are another issue. My stay was Jan 29th 2026.
