The rooms were larger than at most similar hotels, and that was the main draw. They must have been nice in their heyday, but maintenance has slipped: sloppy paint touch-ups, a TV that didn't work, a poor heater, and broken bathroom towel hangers. It feels like the place is struggling or management is taking the profits without reinvesting. The location was another problem. It's behind a strip mall, down an alley with no signage, in a bad neighborhood. Side doors were propped open with rocks, and there was a homeless person in the lobby. Guests had to wear wrist tags for breakfast. The area felt depressed. The only reason I rated it two stars was that it was near the Anschutz Medical complex, which may matter if you're there for that. I booked directly with Comfort Suites at a non-refundable rate, but most booking sites offered much better prices for the same hotel. The website also advertised a hot tub, which got the kids excited, but it had been boarded up when we arrived. That's a bait and switch. Update the website if a facility is gone. The food selection was good, but it was heated processed food rather than fresh, so I gave services one star.
I won't stay here again. My wife felt completely unsafe, and she's no softie. I read the reviews before booking for a February 5-9 work trip, about three miles from where I needed to be, and brought my wife and daughter. I stay at Choice hotels across the US, so this is about this hotel, not the chain. The staff were nice and helpful with requests, but the suite's pullout bed had no sheet. When I asked downstairs for bedding, I got a sheet set. The woman at the desk at 8 PM on Thursday said they had no extra comforter or pillows. I asked if she was serious, since I've never heard that at this chain, and she said yes. There were lots of transient and homeless people hanging around. A man and woman knocked on my door at 9 PM, and it wasn't a wrong-room situation. They scurried off. Later I saw them in the lobby, and around 1 AM the woman who'd knocked was smoking weed out the side window. There was a security guard on site in the evening, but what was his job? I believe the hotel lets random people come in and hang out without checking them. I watched a tweaker tweaking all day and night. The Saturday night room next door was parked until 11 AM. The hotel has four floors and probably 80 rooms, so it seemed odd they put a group who'd just arrived for the night right next to us when we'd been there three days. When I was outside, mostly in the evenings, drunks and tweakers gave me a hard time. One guy on the second floor screamed, “be respectful.” Several drunk people staying at the hotel came up and said hi. I'd say hello back, then they'd stop and want to fight me. For the area, you're going to get some off the wall behavior, but I'm not overreacting. I'm open to the world and the people in it. I don't do this often, but I'm emailing corporate about this visit. Worst Choice/Comfort Inn I've stayed in.
The room was huge, with a large TV, couch and ottomans. I liked having the shower separate from the jacuzzi tube. It was a very nice room, but the curtains didn't block the outside lights, and the air conditioning was on, so it felt pretty chilly. 🥶
We keep coming back because it's convenient for doctor's appointments. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast is included. Edgar is a great receptionist, and the whole staff is friendly.
Whenever I'm in Denver, I choose this hotel for its convenience and staff, and I've had a great stay every time. The place was clean, comfortable, well maintained, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Rocky at the front desk was especially friendly, helpful, and professional. I had unexpected fee issues because of the AM staff, and I really appreciated how Rocky handled them. Adam in security was attentive and respectful and helped me feel safe. Their service made the visit even better. I'd definitely stay again and recommend the hotel. Ms. BOX, see you guys soon!
