Econo Lodge Denver International Airport

There’s no elevator, which really dragged down my rating. It’s only three floors, but this is advertised as the Airport location, and after traveling most people won’t want to haul suitcases up the stairs. The hotel itself is pretty ordinary, though the service was excellent. I arrived at the hotel at 10 after my 9 o’clock flight, and they let me check in that early for $25. It was well worth it.

Good airport location, and the check-in staff were amazing. The room was clean and had a TV, microwave, and mini fridge. Fine for the price, though the bathroom’s sliding door wouldn’t close and the walls are thin.

EconoLodge near Denver International Airport is a place I regretted checking into. It’s described as near the airport, but the area felt sketchy. The rooms were dirty, with stained carpets and grimy bathrooms, and the whole place felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned. The beds were uncomfortable, the walls thin, and the noise made sleep a gamble. It also wasn’t cheap enough to make those problems feel worthwhile. If you want to sleep, have a clean room, or feel at ease before a flight, stay somewhere else.

I only needed a few hours there after driving down from Leadville following work, before a doctor’s appointment at 10am the next morning. It was acceptable for that, but not a place I’d rank highly. I’ve stayed at better Econolodges, and this was one of the lower ones. The outside felt a little sketchy at night compared with other nearby hotels. The elevator wasn’t working, so we carried my suitcase up one flight, luckily only to the second floor. The room was clean, including the walk-in shower, but old and dingy, with thin walls and no breakfast. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker but no microwave, which seemed odd, and one of the low wall lights didn’t work. It wasn’t the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.
