Kenlake State Resort Park

The location was really relaxing, with plenty to do right on site. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the restaurant had breakfast options included with the room, plus lunch and dinner.

I’ve been in this area almost 40 years and had never been here before. Turns out I’d been missing a hidden gem. Service was top notch from check-in to checkout. We arrived a little late, after 6:30 pm, and I had trouble paying with my card. The desk clerk was great, patient and understanding while I got frustrated, and once I sorted it out she pointed us to a nearby restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. After dinner we brought in our luggage and explored the hotel. There’s a game room, a nice gift shop/pantry, and a dining room where we had a very nice breakfast. The lake views are beautiful when it’s light out 😁. Our room had a coffee pot, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. The bathroom towels were the most luxurious I’ve seen in a hotel, and there was even a towel for makeup remover. The water stayed hot long enough for me and my granddaughter to each shower and bathe. The staff are fantastic, the food was delicious, and the rooms are comfortable. I’d recommend them 100%.

The room had a comfortable bed and the internet was okay, but the shower was a little sketchy. The hotel is fancy and old, with top notch service, location, and views. The biggest problem for me is that rooms don’t have a fridge or microwave. It’s also dog friendly, which makes it hard to get some peace and quiet. You can hear barking from more than eight rooms away, so half the floor ends up listening to Fido yelp when the owners go out for dinner or someone walks too close to the room. I’d probably never book here again.

It was a peaceful little cabin in the woods, and I’d stay again if I’m in the area. The cabins are older and have a few cosmetic issues, but they were clean and nothing would stop me from coming back. Having a full kitchen was great.
