The interior of this Marriott-branded hotel is beautiful, and our VIP King Suite gave us lots of space with the classic experience we expected. There was a little staining on the carpet, but it didn’t bother us. I’ve got kids, so I understand. The front desk person at check-in was just okay, neither especially friendly nor openly rude. The reason I can’t give it five stars is how they handled a surprise problem. After shopping, we came back to water pouring from the ceiling into our fourth-floor room. I’m sure it was roof damage and melting snow. Maintenance came up promptly and found us another room, but the water had soaked some of our things. When I asked about compensation, they gave us breakfast vouchers we were already supposed to have. Nothing was offered for the inconvenience, and I felt there should have been a rebate, even though the situation was unpredictable. They also charged $16 per night for parking, which seems ridiculous when there didn’t appear to be any extra security. Maybe that would make sense for long-term parking, but I’m not sure what we were paying for after already paying a premium room rate. We’ll stick with Hilton brand hotels from now on.

The food was a highlight. My wife and I split the half chicken with Brussels sprouts and red potatoes, and it was tasty and plenty for two. The bourbon mule and rosé were good too. I forgot to take a photo, sorry. The hotel itself has a lovely open courtyard and feels classy and comfortable. It’s been modernized enough to feel current without losing its classic, nostalgic character.

The lobby was a beautiful, relaxing place to spend time, and the staff were really helpful. The airport shuttle drivers were quick and friendly, too. In the room, the bed was super comfortable, with lots of pillows and a fluffy duvet. Everything was clean, the furniture was nice, and there were plenty of amenities. Ordering room service was easy and it arrived quickly. I loved the breakfast. I’d highly recommend staying here on a trip to Denver.

We live in Denver and had stayed here every couple of months for about 10 years. It used to be one of the best hotels in the city, and it’s still a beautiful property with great amenities, but since Marriott bought it, the customer service has been terrible. On this latest stay we found stains on the bedding. I asked the front desk for clean bedding and was told housekeeping would come, but nobody showed, so we went to sleep. At 11 pm I discovered the toilet wouldn’t flush. The front desk said nobody was available, even though all I needed was a plunger. We were so fed up that we couldn’t wait to leave, and we told management what had happened. They only said they’d handle it. At 7:30 the next morning, while I was showering and getting ready to leave, a man knocked to fix the toilet. It took two seconds with a plunger, and then I could finish my shower. Housekeeping knocked after that with a blanket nobody had asked for. It was clear the manager hadn’t listened. I can’t believe such a nice place is run this poorly. Avoid it. It’s no longer worth the money, and you might end up having to use the lobby restroom and feeling like you’ve been cheated out of your hard-earned money.

The staff were so friendly. They really seemed to care and worked hard to go beyond what I expected. The rooms are huge, with very comfortable mattresses and four high-quality pillows on each bed. The bathrooms are spacious too, with large glass showers and lovely counters stocked with the amenities you might need. The atrium is elegant and draws your eye, while the garden inside has gorgeous trees and water flowing through it like a little river. Everything about the hotel is beautiful.
