The room felt stuffy right away and had that old-house smell, and the hotel itself seemed pretty dingy. The neighborhood also looked sketchy when we arrived, though being tucked away does keep the highway noise down. We came for a UT conference and booked through booking.com. Our bill climbed from $320 to about $500 because they charged a deposit for each of our three nights. I expected a deposit, but not one every day, and neither the booking page nor our statement mentioned that. One deposit for the stay would be understandable; tripling it felt absurd. A Hampton stay of three nights last month only required one deposit. We aren't pets, so why charge three for a single stay? It blew up our budget, and now we can only afford the free breakfast. We could have planned better if they had told us in advance.

The breakfast was the highlight for my son: lots to choose from, and the woman working there kept everything fresh and filled. There was a mini waffle maker, omelets, oatmeal with toppings, plenty of fresh fruit, and a full coffee station. The pool was clean and peaceful, with lots of floaties and other accessories guests could use. Our room was great, too, and the hospitality was even better. A very relaxed security guard watched the cars at night. All those thoughtful little touches made this stay top tier. For the price, it's one of the best hotels I've stayed at, and I'd come back again and again on my Austin dirtier travels. If you're wondering whether to stay, don't hesitate!

I spend about 8 months a year in hotels, and Denise is one of the best innkeepers I've come across. She greeted our group so warmly after an exhausting day of work and travel, and that meant a lot. My crew and I were still talking about her months later. I'm sure you'll have a similar experience.

Breakfast, clean rooms, and friendly service all get a check from me, and this feels like a home away from home. I've traveled all over the county coaching sports and working in government, staying at brands of every kind. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 as the best, I'd give Angelica 200%. She's an outstanding employee and a real people person. Management is supportive, and the staff are customer-friendly. If you need a family-friendly place, this is it. Angelica would make a great assistant manager or manager! MWH931822

Being near UT was handy, though we happened to be there on game day and the clientele was very obnoxious. The breakfast was good and had plenty of variety, though that's the usual Hampton breakfast. Our room and the rest of the hotel felt dated, with old furniture and dressers that were a bit of an eyesore. The bathroom was small, with nowhere near enough mirror space for several people to get ready. At check-in, the afternoon front desk staff seemed rushed and busy. The place was a little disappointing.
