Hotel San Jose

Natalia E. deserves a special mention for making everything feel personal, warm, and easy from beginning to end. Hotel San José has a distinctive charm, and I keep coming back. It’s right in the middle of a lively, walkable neighborhood, with great shops, restaurants, and lots to explore just steps away. Already looking forward to another visit.

The pool and patio are nice, Jo's coffee is smooth and delicious, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond. South Congress is a great location, close to restaurants and shopping. But even the back rooms can be loud, and the nearly $500 a night price didn’t feel justified. We booked the biggest “suite,” though it was really just a larger room. The Wi-Fi on the south side was so bad it wasn’t usable for Zoom calls or remote work. They never got the sink unclogged. There was no outlet on one side of the bed, and none at the desk either, so someone had to bring an extension cord.

The hotel felt wonderfully calm, even though it’s close to everything. We could walk to lots of places for food and drinks, and breakfast was delicious, whether delivered to our room or the courtyard. Everyone we met on the staff went above and beyond. We’ll definitely come back!

The location puts you close to loads of South Congress spots, with the Continental Club right across the street and Jo's breakfast tacos nearby. We spent three great nights in a fantastic room with a balcony overlooking the pool and courtyard. The afternoons by the pool were perfect, and we had snacks and cocktails in the courtyard one evening. Every employee was pleasant and professional. The place might be too cool for me, but no one figured that out. We couldn’t have been happier, and we’ll be back.
