Motel 6 Austin, TX - Airport

I found small bugs that looked like roaches in room 329 at the Motel 6 Airport Austin shortly after settling in. That's a health and safety issue, not just something cosmetic. I told the front desk right away, but there was little urgency or care, and management offered only a 15 percent discount. Nobody inspected the room with me, explained what they would do, or assured me the problem was isolated and properly handled. A small discount doesn't address the insects or sanitation risk. The property fell short of basic lodging standards, and guests shouldn't have to negotiate for safety. I wouldn't stay here until pest control and staff response are taken seriously.

The room on the third floor at Motel 6 airport Austin, Texas was spotless when I walked in, and the shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. It was also really quiet and relaxing. A pretty decent hotel, and I'd stay again when I'm back in the area.

Aaron at the front desk was a huge help when we arrived, and I did enjoy the stay overall. Still, the rooms were just okay, and the seating area hadn't been cleaned. Someone's used underwear was tucked into a corner. Wi-Fi stops working from the third floor up, so I couldn't get any work done without using my hotspot. The other staff weren't as friendly or helpful either. It's a Motel 6, so I didn't expect anything fancy, but this wasn't the best one I've stayed at. If I return to Austin, I'd choose another place. There are better hotels nearby that clean properly and have working Wi-Fi.

On my last booking, they called at 3:30 pm to say they were sold out and threatened to release my room unless I called back to prepay. My reservation wasn't a prepay agreement, and I wasn't due to arrive until around 10 pm. My rate was $88 plus a deposit, while they were selling rooms for $125. I cancelled. Raising the price like that isn't acceptable. Red Roof was $10 cheaper and doesn't charge a deposit. Book Holiday Inn Rainey ahead and it's $109, still a better deal without a deposit and with a better location. The price here is misleading once you add the deposit. Budget for it and you can stay somewhere better. There are better values around, so I wouldn't support this kind of business.
