Beachcomber Resort

We love being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, and downtown Stone Harbor. It’s such a gem. Full disclosure, we own here, but I’d never written a review before and felt this one was needed. We came down for the first weekend in October and had a gorgeous weekend. The pool and hot tub were open, and the pool deck was perfect. We watched football and the Phillies on the big screen from our chairs by the pool. Our room was ready early, clean, and neat as always. The front desk was happy to answer our questions. Jenn is awesome.

I’ve stayed here plenty of times. It’s close to the beach and lots of restaurants, and the location and service are excellent. The rooms are extremely clean and well stocked. The front desk is always there if you need anything.

My Friday check-in was after 5pm, and I hadn’t realized the front desk would be closed or that I needed to arrange a late check-in in advance. I couldn’t reach the property because the phone message said they were outside business hours. VRBO couldn’t help by phone or chat either, so I was unable to get into my booking and had to find another place at the last minute. The property later refused my refund request, saying the booking was non-refundable. I explained several times why I thought I should get a refund, but got nowhere. Booking here through VRBO was a nightmare. I DO NOT recommend it.

The beach was less than a five-minute walk, and the pool was such a hit that my daughter never wanted to leave it, even though the beach was right there. The free daily slushies were a favorite with my family, too. Our suite was very clean, nicely decorated, and well maintained, though a little dated. Each suite is individually owned, so the styles vary. Nights were practically silent, which matters a lot to me as a light sleeper. The staff were friendly before we arrived and throughout our stay. We had an amazing time and plan to come back for years.
