AC Hotel by Marriott Miami Aventura

The room had two serious problems: the AC never cooled it, and the toilet was completely clogged. The thermostat was set to 70°F but read 76°F, then the temperature climbed close to 80°F. When I called, I was told maintenance wouldn’t be available until morning and there were no other rooms. After my daughter found the blocked toilet, I called again and was told security could bring me a plunger so I could fix it myself. I’d paid almost $500 for one night, and that was the response. This happened on February 27, when I checked into this AC Hotel in Miami with my two minor daughters. The front desk clerk, Mohammed, initials MSN, barely greeted us and only asked for my ID and card. There was no welcome or hospitality. By about 11:40 p.m., I’d had enough. I packed our things and went to the lobby to leave. The clerk showed no empathy and didn’t apologize. I had to specifically ask for a receipt for the refund. We left after midnight and drove about 40 minutes south to find another hotel. The broken AC, clogged toilet, no management on duty, and extremely rude service made this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. I hope hotel management and the AC Hotels brand look into how guests are treated at this property.

The pool area was always clean, and the view was lovely. The location felt vibrant, and it was easy to get around. There’s also a Hertz service at the hotel, and I found the vehicle rental value excellent. Ria was especially accommodating and helpful. I travelled from london and wasn’t sure where to stay until a friend insisted I’d love this hotel. I booked for 4 people, and we were made to feel so welcome. The staff were exceptional, and the rooms and room service were beyond exceptional. It’s hard to explain how lovely the place is in just a few words. Thank you so much. This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to, truly 8 stars ⭐️. I’d recommend it.

A decent pool deck and a great location make this a no-frills place with plenty of potential. The hard product is pretty good, but the service falls short in a few ways. They didn’t have enough pillows for the sofa bed or enough towels, for example. They also don’t honor platinum status for perks like breakfast. I’m not sure that’s going to bring guests back.

Update. 12/06/2025: A month after my stay, the hotel charged $1750 to the card on file for incidentals. This was a business trip paid for by my company. The person at the front desk was absolutely useless and wanted me to wait until Monday to speak with a manager. Absolute garbage. Don’t stay here or trust this hotel. For a stay of up to 3 nights, it’s okay. I stayed 10 nights, and after that you’ll want to bring your own supplies and think about where to eat. My room was mostly clean, though still below what I expect from a Marriott brand. The layout was clunky, with no separate bathroom: the toilet and shower are apart from the sink area, and the design doesn’t work well. Staff were okay. The bar and restaurant are expensive, and there are better, cheaper options across the street.
