Scott is a great guy. We felt really happy staying here, with friendly people running the place, quick replies, and a calm, cozy, home-like feel.

Our room was spotless and felt like home. It even had the original bank vault from when the building was a bank, which was such a fun bit of history. We also enjoyed the converted silo pavilion outside, even with the rain sprinkling.
We left without staying, even though we'd booked three nights while visiting family. There aren't many places to stay nearby, and I knew the rate was low, so I was only hoping for a clean bed. The old building had a musty smell, which I could understand, but the bedding was the dealbreaker. The sheets and pillowcases didn't look or smell clean to me, and I wasn't convinced they'd been washed. The pillows were about an inch thick, flat like they'd been used for years. I was sure they were around 20 years old and had had hundreds of people sleep on them. We left the key in the room and drove 25 miles to a Hilton Garden Inn.
This family-run motel is in a village with a lot of old-fashioned character. The owner was genuinely kind and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. The building combines a turn-of-the-century bank with a furniture store. One of the bank's original safes is still there, while the other was stolen during the Great Depression. The old furniture store also still has a working mechanical elevator lift. Eagle Inn is a lovely little place to stay.
I've never had hospitality like this at anywhere else I've stayed. The owner really cares about the guests and the property, and he's a great guy. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the small town was usually quiet and stress-free.
