Sheraton Lakeside Terrace Villas at Mountain Vista, Avon, Vail Valley

A fully furnished kitchen and laundry in the room make these fantastic rooms a must when you’re skiing all week.

The unit was large and in great shape, and the indoor parking was convenient. This is one of the best timeshares we’ve stayed at. There’s no pool or gym onsite, though you can use the rec center across the street. Check-in and checkout take place at the Sheraton Mountain Villa across the street.

We stayed in the lakeside terrace rooms for the summer and had a great time. The rooms had lots of space and different sleeping options. The kids loved the indoor pools and playground, along with the nearby lake and beach activities like paddle boards and kayaks. The mountain views were great, too.

Good location by the park and lake, and I can imagine the setup working well in winter. Our summer stay was miserable because the listing didn’t make it clear there was no AC. We only found that out at check-in. They first assigned us a third-floor room in a building with a broken elevator, which wasn’t workable with a toddler and baby. After we asked to move, they put us on the second floor above the garage-level “utility room.” The bedroom floor above it radiated heat. It was 85° when we arrived, and after trying fans and open windows as suggested for two days, that bedroom was close to 90°. My son had a fever and couldn’t nap there. When I asked to end the reservation early, I got the runaround. They said I had to wait for the manager until evening. When she came, she said she needed to speak to her manager, who had been there earlier but had already left.
