Hilton Garden Inn Avondale

I left feeling shaken, violated, and unheard. While I was undressed in my room, a housekeeper came in without knocking. That is a serious breach of privacy and safety, especially at a hotel guests trust with their personal comfort. Management’s response made it worse. When I reported it, there was no empathy, concern, or urgency. Instead, they asked when I planned to check out, which made me feel rushed and dismissed, as though I were at fault. The 5,000 points offered as compensation, roughly $20, felt insulting and completely out of proportion to what happened. I expected privacy, professionalism, and accountability. Until the hotel takes guests’ safety and dignity seriously, I can’t recommend staying here.

The building was quiet, and the staff were generally friendly, but the hotel needs noticeable updates and had a slight odor throughout. The rooms are very old and in poor condition. The location also isn’t convenient, with few food options nearby. I had a frustrating billing problem after using a physical company card at check-in and making a small personal purchase that I understood would be billed separately. Later I saw a hild placed on my personal card, even though the main charges were meant to go to the company card. When I called, I was repeatedly told the charges were standard, but there seemed to be confusion about how the cards had originally been set up. I asked for a manager and first got voicemail. When he called back, the conversation felt confrontational and didn’t resolve things. I stayed calm and was just trying to understand the issue, but was told I was being “aggressive.” Then my upcoming reservation was canceled. I had to contact the travel portal myself to do so. The manager said he was the General manager and his name was Bo. I looked it up and it says the manager is named Joe. I easily booked something else. The billing mix-up and the way management handled it made for a disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you have better options.

We slept incredibly well on the Serta Suite Dreams bed, which lived up to its name, and the room was spotless and quieter than expected despite being near the freeway. We were there for a race weekend, and the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix/Avondale was a short drive from the track with plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast at the Garden Grille was a highlight too, with fresh omelets made to order. Everyone we met, from housekeeping to the front desk, was genuinely friendly and helpful. The whole stay went smoothly.

We enjoyed a quiet night and a short staycation. The rooms are a decent size, the lobby is nice, and we loved the pool.
