Being here in January meant the weather wasn’t ideal, but we still had a wonderful family trip and loved the sunrises across the water. My brother, who’s a serious birder, was especially happy exploring the nearby nature preserves. We also made day trips to Houston and Galveston, and the location worked well for going either north or south. We came for our fortieth anniversary with family and stayed in the Ohana House and Bay Room. The Rodgers and their daughters were kind, attentive, and quick to help whenever we needed something. Housekeeping was easy to arrange, and we felt right at home. Our weeklong stay came with a discount, so it’s worth asking about. We’d all gladly come back.

We rented the three-story place right on the water for two days to celebrate my birthday, and I was taken with both the house and its setting. I hated having to leave. We’re planning to return very soon, and I’d happily recommend any of the rentals here.

Those five days flew by. I found this lovely place when I was going through a really hard time, and they welcomed me and helped me feel safe. My cabin had the water right outside, with an amazing view. Pat and Don were wonderful people, and I felt like God had sent me there. I learned to fish and catch 🦀 crabs, and I’ll always be grateful I found this little gem. ❤️

Everyone else on the property has been kind and respectful, and Renee and Pat have made us feel at home from our very first visit. Their warm energy is a big part of what makes this little waterfront haven so special. My daughter and I first stayed at the Salt Water Gypsy and had an incredible time. This visit, my partner and I are in the LaView suite for the anniversary of my sister’s death. Pictures and words can’t really capture the place, you have to experience it. I’d recommend it for couples, families, or anything in between. You won’t be disappointed.
