Palace Inn Bacliff

For a little over a week, I’ve stayed here and haven’t had a single complaint. The room is kept in good shape, the price is fair, and the owners are genuinely nice. After work each day, I’d come back to a made bed and the trash taken out. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

My dad stayed here while recovering from surgery, and the staff kept checking that he was comfortable and available whenever we needed help. They were incredibly kind, and the rooms were very clean. I can’t thank them enough.

For $80 a night, we got a spacious room with two king beds, a fridge, and a microwave. The water was very close, and Kemah Boardwalk was only a 5-7 minute drive away, so the value was good for what we paid. The bathroom was small but nice. A few things could use attention: clear packing tape covered a hole in the wall, the bathroom door needed fresh paint, and the lighting felt dim unless we had the window open during the day.

For $126, I expected something better. The microwave and sheets looked pretty old, and the bed was hard. There were four Family Dollar tables, three table chairs, a TV, and a small fridge. The bathroom was okay. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good either, and I don’t think it was worth the price.
