Quality Inn & Suites Bainbridge Island

The location is peaceful and the night staff woman was kind, but the manager's behavior the next morning was awful. We missed a ferry Friday night and had to catch the next one, so we arrived late, at 12:20 am. We wanted a shower after driving all day, but there was no hot water. After running it for about 10 minutes, it was only lukewarm, then turned dark yellow, so we stopped using it. It looked like rust or something in the pipes, maybe because the water hadn't been run. The woman working at night kindly offered to move us, but I declined because of the hour. At 8:20 the next morning, a landscaping worker used a gas blower right outside our windows, sending rocks and debris toward my parked truck and waking us up. I called to ask why this was happening, and the manager yelled that the workers were doing their jobs, blamed me for checking in late, and acted like it was a burden to work that day. Travelers arriving late is part of the hotel business, and neither the water problem nor the early blower was our fault. The service, price, and professionalism all get two thumbs down. This quiet spot may be great, but the price was nowhere near worth it for an island stay. We paid $360 including taxes for a room I consider worth $125 a night at a Super 8.

The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was tasty. Keep in mind there are stairs and no elevator. The outdoor pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance or perhaps shut for the season during our September stay.

We booked during a really hot week, and the air conditioning worked great. Check-in was friendly, the room was spotless and modern, and the beds were comfortable. The decor had soothing colors and pictures of zen gardens.

Our room was clean, and the staff were friendly, but the price was extremely high. I know it's Bainbridge, but still. I wanted to raise my concerns privately with the owner, yet couldn't find a direct way to reach whoever really manages the property. The main issue was another guest, whose badly wrecked vehicle was parked beside mine. He seemed to be staying with his mother directly above our room, and they were loud enough to wake my family very early. At breakfast, he spent about five minutes blocking the line while stuffing several items from the buffet into his pockets. It felt sketchy and trashy. I can sympathize if he's having a hard time, but I paid a lot for the night and was surprised the hotel permitted behavior that disturbed other guests, along with a vehicle that looked ready for a junkyard. Whatever is going on, this guest's actions got in the way of other paying guests having a peaceful stay. I hope management sees this and responds.
